But he does get better. He tries to do the right thing. And when push comes to shove, he will always protect his family. Let's not forget that when Veronica's stepfather grabbed Georgy and tried to forcefully take Veronica, George knocked him out cold. And there was a tornado going through Medford, he used his own body to shield Missy.
But the type of rage that gets a girl to sell an organ to prove a point isn't something you can trigger. Only someone who is genuinely, well and truly, disconnected from reality would ever come up with it.
If we ignore the age gap and focus on them as individuals, they're perfect for each other. Ren truly understand Kyoko and he plays along with her fantasies. And while it may not be healthy for her to be stuck in her delusions, let the poor girl at least have this. She's a victim of abuse who's been taken advantage of / bullied her entire life.
In a genre that is filled with either helpless damsels or irrationally powerful women, it is so refreshing to see a character that makes sense. Yes, she is powerful but it fits within the rules of the story and the powers of those in her position. She is not a strong female character because of her powers, she is a strong female character because of who she is. With or without her powers she retains her agency (regardless of the outcomes of her actions). She is by no means a perfect person but she is still a good person.

They were caricatures rather than actual humans. They represented the ideal family values. And the one parent who didn't subscribe to these traditional family values was outcasted and depicted as a threat to the family unit (cheater and deadbeat dad).
Honestly, knowing there was a person out there who paid close enough attention to me to understand me that well was better than getting the present in the first place.
What's worse is that Masumi Hayami is known for being ruthless and cold-hearted. He is known for treating actors and actresses like commodities, something even he admits. Tsukikage would have known this. And yet, she still signed Maya over to his company. That is very clearly exploitation of the worst kind.
Her death partially redeems her but it further complicates the turbulent relationship she had with her daughters. They now have to overcome the abuse they suffered at her hands while remembering the fact that her last act was selfless.
Although I am nine months pregnant, although I have had plenty of time to dream, I have not really considered the specifics of this child. I have thought of this daughter only in terms of what she will be able to do for the daughter I already have.
